Health Update

Buddy says, 'Hey, I'm doing great! Got my ears cleaned and nails clipped this morning. It wasn't too bad, mom is pretty gentle. Then she fed me my sardines, liver & catfish with finely chopped asparagus. And then she made my cookies. I tried one, it was great! It had peanut butter, blueberries & vegetable fish broth with a touch of garlic. Mmmmm! Thanks mom! Love you.' September 21st, 2009

Angel Bear

Feb 26th, 2009 by Joanne | 2

When I read Bear’s heart-wrenching story I felt I should link to it for more people to read. OMGosh! I’m so sorry. I treasure every moment I have with my boy and can only imagine the pain of the loss of your best friend Joni. I cry just thinking of him.
Bear passed away only 5 days [...]

A is for Andrographis

Feb 16th, 2009 by Joanne | 1

I’ve been reading more about the tinctures Buddy is taking from my holistic vet. One of them is called Andrographis.

My mom had asked me to look into the newer cold product here in Canada called Cold F/X. When I went to the health food store the owner just happened to have a product on sale which, she [...]

Buddy Was Exposed Again

Here’s the timeline of events:

Buddy’s eye was scratched by a cat on September 30th;
Went to vet for eye on Oct 1st, scratch found in 6 o’clock [...]

Watermelon For Dog Cancer?

Sep 6th, 2008 by Joanne | 5

Thought I’d better say something about sugar and cancer. Sugary foods like fruit are not indicated in a cancer diet. My assumption right now is that Buddy is in remission. Denial or reality I’m not sure! I don’t see the cancer, in his bloodwork or his state of health. I do see the benefits of the fresh fruit and veggies and all their vitamins and health giving qualities. My vet recommends it too for now so I’m staying with what’s working!

Buddy Eats Too Much

Aug 31st, 2008 by Joanne | 0

Well, what can I say? The vet said Buddy eats too much. I had to agree! I was so worried about the wasting that I associate with cancer that I measured on the high end of his limit. And he had lost that weight so quickly just before he was diagnosed. So I packed his meat [...]

Buddy’s New Treatment for CTCL

Aug 26th, 2008 by Joanne | 3

The Internet is sooooo helpful in so many ways. I joined a couple canine cancer email yahoogroups and now have a wealth of hands on experience at my fingertips. On one group I found information about a study on Buddy’s specific type of cancer, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma or CTCL. It took a bit of scanning through [...]

Useless Pesticide By-law

Jul 13th, 2008 by Joanne | 0

…he has to live in a bubble! That’s how dangerous this stuff is and they just keep on spraying it, no masks, I think they had gloves. Noticed several “pesticide warning signs” around the neighbourhood as well. It’s everywhere, even in the air, and on my shoes when I come in the house. My poor dog! I have to take him outside the city just to go to the bathroom…
