Health Update

Buddy says, 'Hey, I'm doing great! Got my ears cleaned and nails clipped this morning. It wasn't too bad, mom is pretty gentle. Then she fed me my sardines, liver & catfish with finely chopped asparagus. And then she made my cookies. I tried one, it was great! It had peanut butter, blueberries & vegetable fish broth with a touch of garlic. Mmmmm! Thanks mom! Love you.' September 21st, 2009

My Boy is Still REALLY WELL!

May 30th, 2010 by Joanne | 0

Two years ago Buddy was diagnosed with cutaneous lymphoma. He is very healthy and happy! Turmeric works wonders and he’s also taking pokeroot now. Everything else is pretty much the same. Home cooked food, alternative vet, keeping away from pesticides, and all is well!
That’s it for now. Enjoying being with my best friend instead of [...]

The Boy is Happy and Feeling Great!

Jul 26th, 2009 by Joanne | 0

Oh, it has been a while. So sorry for letting this slide. Buddy has been doing so well this year that we’re just enjoying each other’s company, walking in the woods, eating home-cooked meals and lovin’ every minute of it. I’m pretty sure he enjoys eating the home cooking much more than I enjoy doing [...]

Buddy is Losing Weight

Mar 14th, 2009 by Joanne | 5

Just within the last few weeks really, the fat pads on Buddy’s lower back are disappearing. Almost as quickly as they came. Strange. I haven’t changed his diet enough to warrant what I’m seeing here. I just gave the go ahead to my Mom,who is the cookie giver at night, to give him a few [...]

A is for Andrographis

Feb 16th, 2009 by Joanne | 1

My mom had asked me to look into the newer cold product here in Canada called Cold F/X. When I went to the health food store the owner just happened to have a product on sale which, she [...]

The Boy is Special

Dec 28th, 2008 by Joanne | 4

The boy is small, actually big for his type, and doesn’t like the wind in his ears. He doesn’t stay outside, it’s whipping all around.
The boy comes with you to the laundry room. He checks the basket for clean or dirty toys, no matter. There he is on the stairs behind you as you head [...]

The Floaty Thing Moves

Nov 24th, 2008 by Joanne | 1

The cyst is benign and common. They don’t usually do anything about them unless/until they start to block the vision. AND, he said they move. He said if you looked at it while …

Buddy Was Exposed Again

Oct 13th, 2008 by Joanne | 3

I’ve considered this long and hard. There could even be smoke coming out of my ears. I should have followed through with the sciences, but I’ll do my best with logic.
Here’s the timeline of events:

Buddy’s eye was scratched by a cat on September 30th;
Went to vet for eye on Oct 1st, scratch found in 6 o’clock [...]

Buddy’s Eyes

Oct 6th, 2008 by Joanne | 1

My sister’s boyfriend’s cat decided my dog’s eye was a good place to put his claws. Oh boy was I upset!  We weren’t positive he got the eye but Buddy woke me up for a couple hours in the middle of the night. He was uncomfortable and rubbing the eye so I comforted him, made [...]
