Buddy Was Exposed Again
I’ve considered this long and hard. There could even be smoke coming out of my ears. I should have followed through with the sciences, but I’ll do my best with logic.
Here’s the timeline of events:
- Buddy’s eye was scratched by a cat on September 30th;
- Went to vet for eye on Oct 1st, scratch found in 6 o’clock position;
- Went back to vet Oct 3rd to ensure eye healing before weekend;
- Went to my brother’s house in NOTL on Oct 6th, dog exposed to pesticides;
- Buddy’s eye inflamed and squinty on Oct 8th, went to vet in a.m.;
- Buddy’s ulcer not healing, actually spread wider, had surgery to debride ulcer;
- Buddy’s sick to his stomach Oct 10th, has lumps on his forehead and BIG lump inside his left lip, and he’s itchy all over;
- Buddy starting to feel better on Oct 13th, lumps getting smaller, mouth feeling better and no longer crazy itchy; and
- Buddy’s eye also seems much better today but E-collar staying on for another day or so.
As I mentioned in my last post, when I returned for a recheck on his eye the ‘other’ vet advised me Buddy had a tumour in the other eye that was dangerous and should be seen by a specialist. So when I had to take him back on the 8th for surgery, my regular vet said she saw the notes in Buddy’s file and not to worry about it, it’s just a cyst, no problem. Geez, do they like to freak you out??? She (the other vet) is not too long out of vet college I guess but still, maybe she shouldn’t be left alone (with me and/or Buddy).
It was only bright and early this morning that I was able to put the pieces together. Took me long enough! Here’s my theory as to why Buddy’s eye ulcer didn’t heal properly: The pesticides did it! The exact same problem happened with his eye 2 years ago. They couldn’t figure out why the eye ulcer wouldn’t heal. We even went to a specialist. I can almost guarantee that they had sprayed the grounds with pesticides and that is why the eye wouldn’t heal. HE CAN’T HANDLE IT! They are poisonous, toxic! They are killing him!
Thank goodness it wasn’t a full blown exposure! I’m putting the homeopathic drops in his water, feeding him good, clean food and giving him lots of rest. He’s recovering well now and the toxins are leaving his system. He’ll be back to himself by next weekend for sure. Buddy’s a fighter! My hero.

ugh!
We had some problems with eye ulcers not healing… our vet did Hemopuncture and that seemed to help quite a bit.. are you giving him euphrasia homeopathic?

Glad to hear Buddy is recovering well. It must have been a rough time for him there. Hugs to Buddy.

I also have a Boston named Buddy. He has been having irritated eyes so came online to see what I can do to help him. I found your blog. I also..if you can believe it.. a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.. so..just wanted you to know that a lot of the same treatments done on humans are also saving the lives of dogs. We are working on it! You should join your local chapter and do something in his honor…
God bless you both!
