The Boy is Happy and Feeling Great!
Oh, it has been a while. So sorry for letting this slide. Buddy has been doing so well this year that we’re just enjoying each other’s company, walking in the woods, eating home-cooked meals and lovin’ every minute of it. I’m pretty sure he enjoys eating the home cooking much more than I enjoy doing it! I know he needs it and the proof is in his happy, healthy, energetic, and playful demeanor.
A nice batch of homemade cookies just came out of the oven. It almost seems as if Buddy is suffering by smelling them but not being able to eat them. He let out this little cry/whine noise . Poor baby. Almost suppertime Bud. Hang in there!
His diet is pretty much the same, although he certainly could use some more exercise! Yes, this means I could too. Good thing I don’t have a hunting dog. Bud was ill at the end of April, early May this year again. Guess why? Pesticides! Again. No matter how hard I try to keep him away from them… They just have to be in the air in large quantities - this is the time when EVERYONE sprays the grass - and he is affected by them. He doesn’t eat well. When Buddy doesn’t eat there is definitely something wrong. And his glands swell up, he is lethargic, and does NOT play AT ALL. Very sick. It cleared up after about 3-4 weeks, like nothing had happened.
Well, we just finished supper. Bud did have a cookie as an appetizer. He approved. He’s a cookie monster for sure.
One more thing that’s new: You know the floaty thing in his eye that I posted about several times? It is now less than half the size it was AND it’s no longer filled up, it’s flat. Left pic is June 2009, right pic is November 2008. I think that’s an amazing sign of how his health has improved over the last year.
My baby. I’m so glad I found his holistic vet and her crazy tinctures! She told me she went to school with Dr. Jean Dodds from California who is involved in the new companion animal vaccination recommendations. She is the best.
That’s all for tonight.
